Here in Kayseri, it has been 70 degrees most days, and 80 today. Only one day of rain -- scattered showers, not a steady downpour -- since I arrived in Kayseri, Turkey on September 21. Did global warming cancel fall, and maybe even winter?
This "steppes" climate is very strange to me -- few trees, so we have occasional dust storms and dusty roads from the lack of rain. But we look out our window at Mt. Erciyes, an inactive volcano about 4,000 ft. up, and we're supposed to get a lot of snow this winter, if it ever arrives. Since our warm clothes have not been shipped yet from the states, we're happy that there has been a delay in the arrival of cold weather.
