When Dan Loomis was born 12 years ago today, Mother, already spirit-renewed from bouts of depression by lilttle Eve's arrival a month earlier, threw off the remnants of depression and reveled in the role of great-grandmother. Toddler Ted could enunciate "Mama Lessie," who became very much a part of the lives of another generation.
A few years later when baby Greg translated her special name into "Mama Yessie," she delighted in its appropriateness, for indeed she did "yes" any of her Greats' demands.
I'm so grateful that our grandchildren have added so much joy to her last years.
