Since the North Carolina State Bar disbarred Durham County’s District Attorney, Michael Nifong, we have received many inquiries about what lessons we should draw from the way the media and the criminal justice system handled the acts of the participants at a lacrosse team party in Durham last March. The official process of collecting evidence for a criminal trial has been stopped. But the learning process of each of us as we seek to live our lives in tune with God’s will must never end.
The first lesson is we must remember is how we got here.
