If I were a high school history teacher, I think I'd assign students to identify all the characters in Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire," and explain their place in history. If they could do that, they should do well on the section "America After World War II.
Here's a professional version with video clips from famous historical events -- a few seem out of sync, such as the first picture of Richard Nixon, supposedly in the late 1940s, but shows him waving goodbye to the nation in 1974. Otherwise, it's an interesting video.
